Janine works regularly with volunteer groups and currently provides a range of groups with support and training for all aspects of archaeology, from site monitoring and survey to excavation and publication. Her most recent work as Regional Archaeologist for the National Trust has given her strong local knowledge of the Midlands and a good contact base in the sector; it has also taught her how to balance the needs of heritage with other competing disciplines, and the opportunity to explore new ways of promoting and interpreting archaeology and making it accessible to all. She is a branch leader of the Marches Young Archaeology Club.
Janine’s previous work as a heritage consultant and director at L – P : Archaeology saw her involved in various large scale infrastructure and multi-disciplinary projects. She produced feasibility studies, EIA chapters and management plans advising how to successfully incorporate the heritage into large scale developments.
Janine is really interested in the synergies between natural and cultural heritage and is interested in what this can teach us about the environment we live in, how we perceive it and how we relate to it.
