How gratifying to see Matt Williams, a young man who appeared on Time Team as just another digger, progress, over the years, to a presenter of a Time Team episode. Well done, Mate! 3251JOE YouTube

Matt has presented Time Team programmes on a monastery below the famous Cerne Abbas Giant and the WWII training camp at Aldbourne that inspired 'Band of Brothers'.
He also worked on the excavation in Shetland to unearth a Viking ship burial - or was it?
For two seasons he excavated at Sutton Hoo - site of the famous Anglo-Saxon burial mounds. During the first year he worked carefully on the cremation cemetery near the mounds, but in year two he was down in the mud by the river, looking for another boat burial!
